Just saw the movie

It was pretty good. VERY SLOW! James Franco even admitted it before the movie was premiered. It was about the last day of Sal Mineo's life. Val did a pretty nice job of playing Sal. Had some good scenes. Overall the movie was okay. You never see James Dean, or Natalie Wood. Nothing about that. The movie was pretty good. Not THAT special.

Yeah, I saw it today in Austin. I thought Val did a fine job. Yes, the pace was slow, but then it made me think of the Dardenne brothers' films. I read somewhere that James likes them. They use a lot of ambient light and sound and I noticed that in "Sal" as well. Some parts had an almost documentary feel.

The Q & A was done by film critic Elvis Mitchell. He had some good questions and they took questions from the audience as well.

Really looking forward to this movie. Sounds like a labor of love from Franco.
