Did they dub in gunshot noises?

Throughout this movie there are gunshots at certain times where it makes no sense for guns to be firing, and you don't see anyone shooting during those times. Also, it will cut back to people HOLDING guns and the gun shows no signs of having been fired. Did they actually dub in gunshot noises to the english dub to try and make the movie more exciting?
