somebody who has seen it...

I was hoping that by now somebody(s) who has viewed it would share their experience.

Kind of confusing. The acts were awesome but if they were going for a storyline they failed

I've seen a few of their shows live and each show has a story with a storyline. And I'm lost when I watched the shows because I just see act after act and I really don't see a story there as well.

So I believe you when you say they failed because even in their live shows, I don't get/see a story.

Of all their stories the only one that has a plot is Ka

It has a story line (a woman searching for a man, wandering through the strange surreal worlds of Cirque du Soleil), but the movie is not about plot. It is about the visual magic of Cirque du Soleil.

I've only seen one live performance of the traveling show. It was amazing, and I was left thinking there was a plot there somewhere, but I hadn't quite managed to grasp it.

There isn't really a logic to this show, but it was a visual delight.

It does move just a bit slowly, as we have to watch each act that we are shown all the way through and some seemed a little long (just a little). They are all stunning displays of strength, coordination, flexibility and skill, combined with the amazing costuming, makeup, and creativity that Cirque du Soleil is justly famous for.

One reviewer complained about too much time given to audience reaction, but I think that was only in the initial traveling circus tent. After that, we were securely in fantasy-land and the only audience was the traveling girl. For me it was about an 8.5/10.

I watched it today in 3D and it was breathtaking.
My fave part was the battle/fight scene on the vertical wall. For a moment or two it was hard to tell where was up and where was down. Just amazing.

I just saw the movie today and I liked it. I saw "O" live so I remembered a lot when she was in that world.

I think I missed out on a lot when I saw it live because I am a person who needs a plot and I didn't enjoy it at the time. But thinking back, I really did love the show and it's artistry and strength of the performers. It was great to relive it again.

Thank you all very much for your input, I appreciate it. I'm also STILL looking forward to seeing it.
Thanks again!

Saw it last night; the film is as beautiful and bizarre as the live circus. The sets are colorful, the costumes are impressive, and of course, the performers are astounding, and you know that there are not CGI enhanced, and there are no wires, and that makes it all the more amazing. I can also say that I have never enjoyed the 3-D technology as much as in "Cirque du Soleil." I recommend you see it while you can, because with all the other big name stuff playing, Cirque will not be around for long..

Yes, thank you. I manage an all-volunteer operated and owned film theatre in our community and have requested it since I first learned of it. It's slow in coming but I certainly intend to show it. Thank you again!

Many of the stunts use wires. You can SEE the wires in the film - most notably the vertical wall battle.

It's really beautiful. The acrobatics is amazing, and the production design is top-notch, although one of the scenes I found visually confusing.

The story line is pretty much tacked-on and (again) confusing in parts, but frankly, who cares.

I think the movie is worth seeing, especially in 3D if you are in the mood for something inoffensive, visually arresting and don't expect it to make a whole lot of sense.
