These Stories Were Not Meant To Be Combined

I've seen most of these shows in Vegas and on their own tell really nice stories, Ka and harnessing gunpowder one of my favorites...combining them to make this story was trite.

Mystere my first and still my favorite.

Would it be correct to say that, by combining them, it makes each one feel less like an individual story (as it felt in each show) and more like detours for the 2 main characters?
