Would you take a 4 year old to see this at the cinema?

There is nothing offensive in content, but there is also not a lot of talking. There ARE amazing acrobatics. If your child could sit through a ballet, then perhaps your child would appreciate this.

If its a UK cinema, definitely not .

Consider what other, if any, hour and thirty minute movies your 4 year old has sat through and how that went. If it went well, then I would assume this would be fine. As the other viewer assured you, there is nothing offensive, but there are beautiful sets, amazing acrobats/athletes, breath-taking colors and wonderful music. If your little one has not been to the theater before, I would get them used to movies by going to those intended for children before trying an adult show. By the time your child can really appreciate this, you will undoubtedly have a 3-D TV & player in the house (or maybe something better by then) if it can't be found anywhere elsewhere. Be sure to buy the Blue Ray now. Obviously, if you try the movie and your child is just too uncomfortable to remain quiet, you'll have to leave and forfeit the cost of the theater tickets, so if you don't think it's feasible, just spend the money buying the Blue Ray video now & your child will enjoy it with you later. You are good parents to want your child exposed to this beautiful film; obviously, you'll find many other great films, amazing music, beautiful artwork and many memorable trips to sites of historic importance (even mini weekend trips near home) to expose them to as the years pass (and they do pass so quickly) - most of all, enjoy getting to know your child as the unique person they are!
