I enjoyed this, good movie.

No, it wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed this movie. Despite the fact that the main character was abrasive, I found myself rooting for him. I wanted him to succeed. I found the cast to be quite good.

My only real criticism, was that it felt rushed at times. Some scenes needed extra padding to make them a bit more substantial.

I will be buying this when it comes out on DVD, I would love to see the extras and hopefully there might be some extended or extra scenes.

The cast was amazing! I was so surprised when I first read that Allison Janney and Christina Hendricks were going to be in the movie. I thought they were great, as well as Dermot Mulroney, Rebel Wilson, and Sarah Hyland. And obviously Chris :). I kind of wish there was more of Sarah Hyland's character in the movie. She was very likable. And more Rebel Wilson, too.

Loved this film so much.

Carson was abrasive, but understandably so and he was totally relatable as he vocalised all that I had felt at High School.

I can understand about wanting some scenes to have more padding. I just wanted the film to keep going so that I could experience living through Carson more.

Yes, I will definitely be buying this CD as will my friends who all loved the film too. It was amazing how much we all related to it in similar ways, but each of us got something unique from it too and we love talking about it.

I liked it as well but it was kind of depressing specially how messed up Carson's parents were and how sad the ending was.

7/10

I'm so surprised by the positive reviews. The acting and the production were top notch but I found the story line to be a complete waste.

All the characters, including Carson, are selfish and one dimensional. Nothing interesting happens between Carson and Mallory even though they are together throughout the movie. Carson doesn't seem to like anyone but mostly there is no one to like. There's really no reason for anyone to like Carson either.

In a high school drama, the point is often coming-of-age. Apparently Carson came-of-age at 8. He never grows or changes throughout the movie.

You live, it sucks, you get hit by lightning.

Well, I'm old, but I'm a Chris fan, and I'm glad I saw this movie. Now that I'm old (did I mention that?), I can see big holes in the plot and lots of fakey stuff about how schools work (I was also a teacher), but this is a movie that tried to, like, _say_ stuff. It manages to avoid a lot of stereotypes, by flaunting cartoonish stereotypes. Filming it on video was brilliant; gives it a here-and-now feel, and also ties in with a major theme of the story that I won't spoil here.

But mostly I loved Carson. Hell, I _was_ Carson. The most common complaint I see about Struck By Lightning is how "negative and sarcastic" Carson is. I can only assume the complainers were in some other clique in school. Like Carson, I was independently minded, far-sighted, and an outlander; I had no clique. Which meant I had no homies (though, again like Carson, I did have a few tight friends.)

Though I hate sequels, I would watch many more movies about Carson. ('Course, given the way this movie started and ended, the next one would have to be "Struck By Lightning II: The Search for Carson".)

Carson lives. That hell is real.
