If you like Inherent Vice, you should definitely check out the new movie The Nice Guys starring Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling. It is set in the same 1970s time period and has a very similar style and feel and plot (i.e. eccentric private investigators searching for a missing person) but slightly more comedic and action-oriented. I imagine The Nice Guys will be one of those movies like The Big Lebowski or Pulp Fiction that will be on T-shirts, posters, shot glasses, cups, etc. for years to come. It might be a modern classic!

I thoroughly enjoyed The Nice Guys. Real fun movie

Despite it taking place in the 70s and being a neo-noir film, they're pretty different. Inherent Vice lends itself more to the artsy, challenging side while The Nice Guys finds itself in the camp of quality entertainment and fun

Agreed. I also loved the Nice Guys (and Inherent Vice). I've seen it like four or five times now.

It's unfortunate it didn't fare better at the box office. I would love to see a sequel.
