Why is Allen Gregory so small?

Seriously, he's smaller than everyone else in his grade. Anyone know why they drew him like that?

I call movies that are considered 'bad' hated movies.

My guess is he's younger than everyone else in his grade because he probably had an excellerated curiculum with being homeschooled (and a gifted super genius). They probably skipped him ahead a few grades when he finally got to public school. If he really is the youngest kid in his class, that makes his pretentiousness even more annoying...

he's a midget!

I was sure that they put him in the 2nd grade. That is normal for a 7 year old and not accelerated.
There is nothing in this shows that would suggest that he is actually average intelligent let alone advanced.

From the wikipedia page:

Leslie Mann as Gina Winthrop. She is Allen Gregory's first-grade teacher who tries to teach him, but he shows no respect for her or her job and continually disrupts the class.

So according to that, he would really be behind for a 7 year old if he is only in the first grade. He is really a remedial case.

Guillermo is in his class and Guillermo is 7 years old. Jeremy said that it was a FIRST GRADE play. NO WAY has Allen been advanced to a higher grade.

And when he talks back to Gina when she is giving the sex ed lesson in episode 6, it is CLEAR that he is quite dense rather than super smart. It's just that his daddy has always told him that he was "special" and like Barack Obama, he was stupid enough to believe it.

Well, he's supposed to be seven years old. So, that can answer why he is short.
