I noticed some similarities between the Motch brothers in The Campaign and the Duke brothers from Trading Places, their overall characters just seemed similar. I was wondering if this could be a reference to Trading Places, since Aykroyd stared in that.

shareYes--the Koch Bros. The characters in the movie are rich and corrupt, just as the real-life Koch Bros. are rich and corrupt. The Kochs pour TONS of money into scores of local elections around the country in order to move the country further to the right (if that is possible) and puff up their bank accounts and other assets. Funny movie, but the Kochs are definitely not funny! They are precisely what is wrong with our country: big money in politics.

You only see the bad guys in GOP, and absolutely deny existing any parallel cases in DNC. Suddenly Buffet and Soros are the good guys, only because they are sponsoring "your" organizations and ideas. This way we`re not going anywhere.
