Just a nickpick but...

So it was the gunfire and not the helicopter crashing in the backyard that woke the neighborhood up?

Not a major problem, just something that makes me chuckle every time I watch this.

The Helicopter didn't really crash though. It crash landed. There was not explosion, fire or smoke coming from the Helo crash landing. People were used to military helicopters flying in the area. No doubt they heard it but, it didn't stand out as much as the AK fire or Breaching Charges did.

Dude, you should stick to your PlayStation war games.

If you believe that a helicopter even just landing normally, less than 100 meters away would not wake up the dead, then you are deluded. Those computer war games have corrupted your mind.

AK Fire? SEALs use AK’s? Dude, again, in real life you can’t scroll through a list and power up with exotic weapons. This movie was a depiction of a real incident. It’s not Medal of Honour.

In the raid the SEALs were inserted by newly modified "stealth" H-60 BlackHawks which had noise reduction measures such as rotor covering, along with a special rotor design. They also flew in low and fast which meant that they wouldn't have been heard until they were nearly directly above.

All the SEALs that were assaulting and clearing the compound were carrying HK416s with suppressors and those on the outside some SEALs were carrying 7.62mm HK417s as well as the FN MK 48 Mod 0 and set up as a perimeter again all with suppressors. So it was definitely the helicopters that woke them up not the gunfire especially as it was so clinical and there was no enemy gunfire.

The UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter in its standard set up is a very loud helicopter which if used the residents would have been awoken when it was several kilometres out compared to the "stealth" H-60s.

There were several dozen AK rounds fired. And they used no less than half a dozen breeching charges. People didn't start approaching the Blocking Point until the breachers started blowing fences and doors. Entry teams also used flashbangs at the doors that were locked. The witnesses at the scene all claimed to hear a helicopter hovering but like I said military helicopters were common locally, they noted it as an annoyance. While rare, that didn't get any of the witnesses to come outside. It was the gunfire and explosions that got them up and outside. It was documented on twitter realtime by one famous witness. And he summarized it live.

By who and at what target?

It was the helos that woke up the neighbourhood way before they started letting off breaching charges! They just didn't know that it was US helos hovering rather than helos from the Military Academy up the road. Black Hawks are way louder than AK fire.

So then did the SEALs that were part of the Blocking Point or perimeter given an ROE that allowed them to start shooting Pakistani civilians if they came within a certain distance from the compound? I highly doubt it and it would simply be just bursts above their heads and voice instructions.

You're dense as usual. Look it up instead of fvcking guessing all the time. Hmm AKs...used by the bad guys...well they were shooting at the goat. Al-Kuwaiti emptied nearly an entire magazine....well that is if you go by the SEAL accounts.

Its not about what fvcking woke them up you thick headed dip! Read and repeat. Christ! Why are you following me piggy backing? Just coincidence?

Of course the AKMs were if fired were by the residents in the compound. This was a KILL mission NOT a Capture/Kill mission as "planned" in the briefing room and reported to the World's media and unless they got in the way (just as one of Bin Laden's wives tried to act as a human shield) there was to be no shooting at women and children.

That's bad for PR and American international relations especially the fragile US-Pakistani cooperation! You don't want a headline in the international media stating the the SEALs mowed down every tenant in the compound including unarmed women and children. That is NOT to say that once a woman picks up a gun and therefore becomes an enemy combatant and that the SEALs were within their ROE to light her up. As you already know SEALs are highly trained in being clinical with whom they fire their weapon at and how many rounds etc and engage e.g. not firing indiscriminatory and preservation of life when it's called for!

That famous witness wrote that it was the helos woke them up:

“Helicopter hovering above Abbottabad at 1AM (is a rare event),” and “Go away helicopter – before I take out my giant swatter.”

The gunfight lasted perhaps 4-5 minutes,” he said in a more recent response to one Twitter user, and that he was “2-3 km away from that area. Planning to stay alive, if they let me live, lol.” Then: “I guess Abbottabad is going to get as crowded as the Lahore that I left behind for some peace and quiet. *sigh*”

So like I said the residents were awoken and out in the streets when they heard the Blackhawks come in low and fast from a few kilometres out and started hovering when it started inserting SEALs. They were awake way before Al-Kuwaiti started to fire nearly an entire magazine of his AKM and way before the SEALs started letting off breaching charges or even firing any of their suppressed firearms. Regardless of whether the highly modified UH-60 with their noise reducing countermeasures it was still enough noise to get the neighbourhood awake and out of their houses.

Following you? Give me a break, there are numerous Movie Military Boards on IMDB now which we both frequent. If you look at the time stamp I posted 6 minutes after a reply the the OP's question and was typing up my message just after you clicked on post reply but please give me more examples of where I'm "pigging backing" you?

You are guilty of piggy backing as you call it too, in numerous threads where I have given a CORRECT answer to a military question then you come in after and add another 2 cents to try to give more information.
For full effect you add in every military Acronym there is even which useless for the majority of civilians on the Boards and even I have had to Google the meaning of some. Maybe if you're on a Military message board that's cool but there aren't that many people on here that understand all these Acronyms.
