I did like it. It's just how many times did Adam have to mention the "woes of his worldly wealthy lifestyle" and all the "'social events and parties" he had to attend. It was so irritating! There were very little likeable qualities to constitute the love triangle.

They were trying to show that he was feeling unfulfilled and had less in common with the snooty Priscilla and more in common with down-to-earth theatre-loving Wendy.
