It's definitely one of my favorite Christmas movies-ever, but I can't help but notice the very many mispronunciations...Priscilla with "fin-tastic, spictacular, Christ-miss" and Wendy with "So you never toad me", "This could be a magicawal night" "Pressuwes of the weal wowld" (characteristic of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey pronunciation of the letter "L" as "W")...this is just an observation, not a critique, because I love this movie so much! :)

shareThat really does depend on your interpretation and perception. As an ESL teacher, you learn that words are not so much mispronounced, but influenced by the dialect of the speaker. I suppose that's also why I didn't even notice the "problem" in the film.
I've lost count of how many children I've had to tell, "As long as I can understand you, don't worry if you don't sound like a typical 'American' speaker." Countries like Russia, Macedonia, China, etc. put a lot of stock (too much) on pronunciation.
So, just be careful about what you classify as "mispronounced" because it may not necessarily be true.
In the English language, all words have a correct and incorrect pronunciation, despite the dialect of the speaker. Fantastic is pronounced fan-tastic, not fin-tastic, which is incorrect. And Wendy's letter "L" pronounced as a "W" is also incorrect. Like I stated in my post, this is an observation, not a critique. Thanks!😉
