what's on tap for this show?

still on? new episodes?

Season's Greetings!

Not sure. There hasn't been a new episode in a few weeks. Hope it is not over, I found it entertaining.

I'm also hoping the ratings are good enough to continue the series. Would be great if each season follows a new Micro Brewery

reply

what do you think of dogfish? i've never had it. yet. had their ipa? i'm a total hophead! following a new micro brewery would be way cool. fritz maytag who runs anchor brewing is retiring. or did. he's the guy who saved the micro brew in the usa. they should work him into a program or two. an interview he did. http://www.blogaboutbeer.com/a-conversation-with-craft-beer-pioneer-fr itz-maytag/

I've tried quite a few of the Dogfish Head beers, (Punkin Ale, Midas Touch Golden Elixir, Saison Du BUFF and 90 Minute IPA) and as much as I want to like them--I haven't so far. Perhaps it's because my crude palette is incapable of appreciating some of the subtle flavors and ingredients (I tend to prefer strong beers that punch you in the face like Double IPAs or Imperial Stouts).

I didn't find Dogfish Head's 90 Minute IPA to be particularly hoppy (but I'm keeping my eye out for the 120 Minute hoping it'll be better). In the meantime, I indulge my 'hoptooth' with beers like Russian River's 'Pliny the Elder,' Port Brewing's 'Hop 15' as well as most of the strong ales made by Stone Brewery.

I really enjoy the show and like the philosophy and attitude at Dogfish Head, so I'll continue trying their other brews until I find one I like.

thx for the info! i've had trouble finding dogfish. those stone brewery brews sound good too. anchor liberty ale. sierra nevada torpedo ipa. anchor steam. allagash dubbel. hitachino nest white ale. when i make a call to the beerpen for relief. those are my usual choices.

Oh, I forgot to mention Sierra Nevada Torpedo! Good thing you already knew about it. Both Sierra Nevada and Anchor Steam make great beers that are widely-available and will do in a pinch. But if you want to peruse a reputable list of great IPAs, check out this URL:

Hoppy drinking!

i've had bell's. enjoyed it. thx for the list! will check some of the others out. the problem with beer with more than 8-9% alcohol is that it stops tasting like beer & turns into alcoale.

I'd suspect that, assuming you've only had the beers listed here, you should try the India Brown Ale:

those aren't the only ones. is this show done?!

"It's for the pain. Rarely touch the stuff...Can I have another?"

There was a surprise showing of the "Portamarillo/Punkin Ale" episode from 2010 this morning. It must have been an isolated showing as DirecTV doesn't show anything upcoming in the next two weeks. I believe the show is done because it has lost it's page on discovery.com. You can still see some clips here:
