I've read the book & was really looking forward to watching this on TV but due to illness was not able to see it! Anyone know if they are releasing it on DVD?

If you live in the UK and have access to broadband, then you will probably still be able to catch it on BBC Iplayer.
As there is an edition of the novel released as a tie-in with the TV programme, I'd say the Beeb are going for broke with the merchandise, so a DVD release looks likely.
