The Cast

How do you find the cast?

Claire Foy as Helen is awesome! And Harry Treadaway as Duncan Pearce seems from the appearance well cast!^^ And Viv seems to be good too...
But I imagined Kay a bit more...male.

I'm definitely very excited about THIS film!^^

I think looks-wise they're all quite good--and I agree, Anna Maxwell-Martin isn't the Kay I imagined, but I've seen her in a few things and I think she could do a good job of it.

Any idea when this will be coming out yet?

I'm not sold on that part of the casting either. When the book starts Kay is in her late thirties and looking a bit worse for wear. Anna Maxwell Martin is still quite fresh faced. She's a good enough actress, but lookswise she would have been better of playing Mickey, although I believe she has been written out of the story.
We'll see how it pans out. If it sucks there's always the book.

That would be a shame, Mickey had such a strong connection with Kay...

It really would be. The parts where they are together in the book are some of my favourite bits.

I am very impressed with the casting. They are all very accomplished performers. I can smell a load of awards noms coming up for this!

Bile fairies!!!!!

Definitely, wrong choice for Kay.. I think the movie would be more successful with some changes in cast.
Helen and Duncan were good, I agree.

I quite liked Harry Treadway as Duncan and Claire Foy as Helen (although I think she would have suited Vivian as well), but the rest of the cast just seemed off. Anna Maxwell Martin was not at all convincing as Kay largely because she lacks the physical movement and doesn't wear the clothes in the way her character should. JJ Feild is a handsome and charming guy, but his build is all wrong-- thin and lanky like a dandy whereas Fraser should be a bit more macho.
