Why do people keep complaining about not understanding the actors?

I understood it completely. I didn't even know people were having problems until i read all these posts. I'm Canadian too.

I had to watch with subtitles on.
I just treated it like a foreign language film because I honestly couldn't understand a word of it.

I've just finished watching it and trying to figure how what they were saying is near impossible and frustrating. I will watch it again ... with subtitles.

Well, you have "irish" in your name and one of the character's was Irish, so perhaps it was easier for you to understand than others. I'm American and I had a spot of trouble understanding them, particuarlly early on. But I just put my head down and got it through it, confident in the fact that I would be able to understand through context what I couldn't hear clearly.

My only issue is it seems like a film with a lot of foreshadowing, and tiny little tidbits that you might not notice at first and then pop back up later. (i.e. The rabbit guts in the front yard look like intestines, and later we see Gal's intestines, plus while camping they are actually eating rabbit meat; the whole sword battle with between Dad, Mom and son in teh beginning that echoes the final scene, the victims of their hits always saying "Thank you"). With all these hints and clues, it makes me wonder what else I missed since there was a good deal of the time that I couldn't understand the exact dialogue.

The Irish guy Gal was actually easier to understand then the Londoner Jay, although I had trouble understanding them both at times. I've even some some YouTube reviews by British people who say they had trouble with the dialog, so it's not just an North American thing.
