Decent Film

Decent film that's given a hard time because it has a wrestler in it as the lead actor.. same thing with The Condemned which was also a great film involving Steve Austin. Batista showed he can act in this and it was a decent crime/action film

I liked it quite a bit, actually . . . until the ending, which was frustrating and which felt unfinished to me. But that's not enough to make me dislike a film overall. So it still got a 4/5 from me.

i actually think hes a better actor than the rock. the rock tries too hard to play "the rock" character. a charismatic, larger than life, phenom. the prob w/ that is... even when cast as the "big guy" or "tough guy" it doesnt mean he has to carry that persona on screen. or even thats exactly how the director of the film wants him to be.

i think dave bautista played his role quite lovely. i think he tried to play a quiet, tired, rehabed, tough guy. i realize he seemed to carry little emotion throughout the film. but in an issue of real life emotion vs. acting/film emotion... he comes off as the kind of guy that has a laid back personality. and sometimes that comes out in most confrontations. i was actually relieved to see a "brute" w/ a level head versus the one w/ steam coming out his ears looking for revenge right out of the gate.

a 'think before u act' tough guy is a rareity in most movies like this. i also liked the fact that bautistas character tried to talk to ppl versus trying to intimidate every person he came into contact with. almost as if he was actually trying to play a character of a rehabbing hot head.

but, please... dont take my commments to mean more than what they are. for a low budget WWE movie, its not bad. but by no means is it great either.

I gave it 7/10. I thought it was good and entertaining but nothing extraordinary.
