Not that good copy of a few good Hollywood movies *spoilers*

After Netflix recommended Talaash having watched Zindagi Na Milegi Doobara (excellent, rated 9/10), I thought it would be a good movie to watch. The description said thriller and it had Amir Khan and Kareena Kapoor so I figured it would be a unique, original well made movie.

Sadly, I think this didn't live up to the mark.

The movie revolves around Amir Khan, an inspector who moves to a new city and is unable to cope with the loss of his child. His wife is considered psychotic and dismissed as well.

He engages himself in his work further to blank his mind and eventually meets Kareena Kapoor while solving a case involving a movie star's death.

The plot is very simplistic and I saw it coming from a distance.
Tbh, it was very clear they were channelling the following movies

- The Sixth Sense - Kareena is dead and some scenes are presented in similar fashion with audience made to think she is real and fits into the scene normally but in reality it was just a cleverly made scene. In a few places, this concept even fell flat.

- Don't look down - with the child drowning situation and the seance and messages from beyond.

Overall, the acting was not too bad. Amir was good as was Rani but Kareena was trying too hard. She also appears more masculine than sensuous as she did in Satyagraha. The others did a decent job as well.

The directing was alright and overall the movie didn't have any thrills nor chills. The movie felt very average to me.

Final rating: 6/10
