Such a great movie

This went up on Netflix recently. It's a great film by Joe Swanberg.
Jennifer Prediger and Kent Osborne are awesome. It follows basic mumblecore byways so if you don't like those keep away. Also, in a movie where everyone is so emotionally naked, Swanberg's cameo as the friend somehow seemed the most naked and honest of all.

I just finished watching it on Netflix. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect but I saw a ménage à trois as the thumbnail, so I queued it. lol I instantly liked Kent and I wasn't put off by anything in this movie. The pool scene where he's explaining to his friend how he feels "he missed the boat" on love and is too old to do anything about it really resounded with me. I'm only 24 yrs old, but I feel like if I don't meet the person I want to spend the rest of my life with SOON, I won't have any kids nor want to. The term "mumblecore" is genius. Props to whoever came up with that.

Oh and, Kent looks like an older Gendry, from Game of Thrones, played by Joe Dempsie.

I caught it just before it expired from Netflix and found it brilliant. This is the third Swanberg film I have started. The first (Nights and Weekends) I liked quite well, though not as much as this one; the second (Hannah Takes the Stairs) I found intolerable and turned off after ten minutes or so.

Thus Uncle Kent was kind of a tiebreaker: had I hated it I think I would be done with Swanberg. Instead I have a renewed zeal to keep digging into his oeuvre.
