Are the bad guys in Tyler's movies too much sometimes?

Now, here me out, I'm a black man and I've been a big fan of Tyler Perry and I respect his work. Now, I'm not dogging Tyler's work or anything but after rewatching some of his films, I find that the majority of his films, the bad guy or villain of the movie appears too harsh. I mean like Steve Harris' character in Diary of Mad Black Woman, Blair Underwood & Lynn Whitfield's characters in Madea's Family Reunion, Sanaa Lathan's character in The Family That Preys(Cole Hauser's character was better as a bad guy in my opinion), Richard T. Jones in Why Did I Get Married?(though I thought he was great in the sequel), Janet Jackson's character in Why Did I Get Married Too?(I loved her in the first one and her acting was great in both films, but I was really upset with her by the end of this one), Angela Bassett's ex husband in Meet The Browns, etc. Maybe it's me but they all were too cold and became very annoying afterwards. Now I haven't seen I Can Do Bad All By Myself or Madea's Class Reunion, while I thought Steve Harris & Blair Underwood did great in their respective roles, the other actors were too much and I'm a fan of all of them. Did anyone else feel this way or notice this?

I just saw Madea's Big Happy Family a while back, the same thing with Shannon Kane's character, Kimberly but she had a reason to be upset with everyone in her family.

I think the villains tend to be overblown and cartoon-like. Off the top of my head, I'm thinking of the man in "Daddy's Little Girls" who was dating the children's mother. The motivation seems to be simply, "I'm a bad guy!" & not any character background reasons.

Yeah, I forgot about him too. Good point on that. I think TP needs to show the sympathy for those characters without making them overly mean to the point where you just don't care for them.

The thing about Tyler Perry's writing style is that he makes his villains absolute evil with no room for redemption. Instead, the focus is on the main characters' redemption and trials. Usually, they start out as superficially horrible people, but then you learn why they're like that and, over the course of the movie, they're taught a valuable life lesson and learn to get out from under the villain's hold on them. Perry uses family, love, and romance as a metaphor for God and The Devil. That's why the villains are so over the top. If you watch his plays, the religious aspect of his writing is practically spoon-fed to the audience.

Yeah, the focus is only on the main character and the villains are just irredeemable. I couldn't sympathize with any villain. Usually a villain can be sympathetic, look at Batty in Blade Runner for example. They could've easily had shown something in Underwood's character's past and showed why he did the things he did. Same for the husband/dad in Meet the Browns but that character just couldn't be bothered with his son.

I think Perry needs to switch it up. Temptation was good but the climax was really bad and too theatrical & over the top, case in point when Gross realizes what's going on, he screams his girlfriend's name before he leaves. Temptation had loads and loads of promise but the end was a big disappointment and felt rushed.

Yes, the character are way over the top,and over dramatize. Angela Bessett's ex boyfriend ( they weren't married, because he already married) was way too villainly, and ugly, that You couldn't even imagine why she would have slept
with him. That's the problem I have with Tyler Perry's antagonist in his movies . They usually have no redeeming qualities that would allow you to see why the protagonist wouldn't have kick their ass a long time ago. Which brings me to another problem. His protagonist in the movie are usually way way too nice. It's totally unrealistic.
