The Barn

What was the significance of the barn? She runs in there to escape Moss. Later she locks Moss and the young girl in there wanting them to mess around with each other. And theres another scene where she goes in and lays down on the ground in a fetal position. Did something happen in there to her? Is it supposed to be a kind of womb symbol representing her mother and in the end she is breaking away from her and entering the real world?
