Brad Meltzer's way of talking...

He talks like a stereotypical teenage girl. You know... with an upward lift in tone in the last word he says before a pause or after a sentence. It's a little off putting. Has anyone else noticed this?

reply

Yes, the whole show is very strange and off putting. Frustrating because I actually enjoy the subjects they are covering.

The doof with the notepad kills me... ITS ALL BEING TAPED! JUST REVIEW THE FRIGGING FILM IF YOU FORGET SOMETHING! haha...

Hes a goof. However, without him this show would just be monster/ufo/some other never find anything investigative show hunters.

I wonder if hes using any of these nutty episodes for his books. Speaking of which, has anyone ever read one of his books? I never heard of him before this show.

reply

BB--I wondered the same thing re: his books. I had never heard of him, nor do I know of anyone who has read his books. Perhaps someone else can review.....

Brad Meltzer is a best-selling author having several number 1 sellers on the New York Times top ten list, including "The Book of Fate," and "The Inner Circle." He's also had non-fiction best-selling books including "Heroes for My Son."

I've read "The Inner Circle;" and I currently am reading his latest hot best-selling book "The Fifth Assassin."

i half-agree; more like stereotypical teenage socal resident, associated w/girls b/c of the song , "valley girl," by frank zappa.

--but spend enough time around oh, say tweenage boys of all descriptions in that region, and you'll hear it. plus the homogeneity factor of u.s. life means affectations of coastal regions tend to spread inland... and eventually, because of television, you start to hear the contraction "we're'" pronounced as a homophone for 'were' as in past tense of 'are.'

tl;dr: yes, he sounds ridiculous, a little bit like this closeted christian canadian kids' show host i used to watch in the '70s.

Yes i know this is a very late post but who gives a *beep*

Yes i noticed he does that too, he will do that upward pronounciation on the last word of the sentence, then on the next sentences last word he will simultaneously do a upward then downward pronounciation, it is very annoying, thanks for pointing that out, its always bugged me but its been like an unconcious annoyance

reply

he'd be a great paper football player. he's always making the fg posts with his fingers.

Hey, sprechen sie talk?

reply

Ugh, I think it's just a super nerdy uptight way of talking, drives me crazy. I've know people who talked like this in real life, too. But sometimes he's trying to be funny, that's the worst, or create "drama", he's just cheesy.

reply

I find his way of speaking amusing and humorous. He often interjects humor where you wouldn't expect it, with deadpan accuracy.

I love the Brad.
