My thoughts on the movie

So a bit of backstory; I was on an airplane yesterday that had those small TV screens on the back of the seat in front of you, and as I was flipping through the channels this movie was just starting, I figured I would watch until the first commercial so I could get the name of it and look it up later, but they never said the name. I decided I may as well just watch it despite having no clue was it was or was it was about, because I might never find it again, and I was pleasantly surprised. Of course it's not the best thing ever made, it's a TV movie, but I found it suspenseful and intriguing.
I try not to focus on plot holes in movies, I find it makes them less enjoyable, but I did have a couple of questions which the film left unanswered, (Spoilers) mainly, why would they bring the doctor there in the first place? Was it just because they wanted to add a staff member? Also, the whole thing with Evan seemed weird, I can't exactly explain it but that whole plotline seemed odd.
Finally the ending, like I said, I really enjoyed the movie but the ending seemed... abrupt, I guess. The whole movie has this whole intense theme and then all of a sudden there's a somewhat anti-climactic fight and then everything is fine? I don't know, I didn't dislike the ending, I just thought it was a bit unsatisfying.
Oh, and on the off chance anyone was wondering, I found it later by remembering one of the actors names during the credits, looking him up, and scrolling through his IMDb filmography looking for something that sounded like the movie I had just watched (luckily it had a fitting name).
