The sort of thing that makes me sick to my stomach...

For big pharma to do this sort of thing is absolutely disgusting. Then again, it's not surprising, in the least bit. To think that millions upon millions of people are simply allowed to die because they can't afford a pharma company's ridiculous prices for something that costs very little to manufacture is ridiculous. I've heard the argument that it took tens, if not hundreds of millions of dollars in researching the drugs, and they have to make that up, somehow. Guess what big pharma...with billions in profits, you already did, many years ago. It's not like you were ever in the red in the first place, so that excuse is a joke.

And then to block the importation of the same drugs that costs pennies compared to theirs is absolutely sickening. This can simply be defined by one word...EVIL. There is NO excuse. I realize a company is in business to make money, but to sit back and watch millions die because they can't afford their ludicrous prices is absolutely evil.

I used to do medical transcriptions for a relative who worked at an endocrinologist's office a few years back. One of the not so rare things that I discovered is what would sometimes happen when the patients could not afford their chemo medications. The doctor would contact the pharma company to see what could be done. Quite often the pharma company would tell him there was nothing they could do. So, basically, the person would die because they couldn't afford the company's drastically inflated prices. It's disgusting. And this is miniscule compared to what this documentary is about.

To sit back and watch while your fellow human dies, when you could easily stop it, is absolutely wrong, and disgusting.
