First!

I read about this movie on the Huffington Post. I am anticipating a mature discussion.

Ha! I doubt it... I'm hoping for some plot points and spoilers, but I think we will just end up with a bunch of trolls and crazies.

My initial reaction, after watching the trailer, is that this is going to put some ideas into the heads of some ultra-conservatives, and this will go from being a "horror" movie to being a documentary.

However, until I see the end of the movie to find out if good triumphs over evil and the priest ends up on a slab, I'll reserve final judgement.

I had a dream about this once.

The young woman in the dream was a rape victim locked up in a regular hospital by court order. As soon as the baby was born, she left the hospital and committed suicide.

I had the dream five years ago but thinking about it still gives me chills.

Funny that Blanche Baker is in this, considering the movie's plot. She played Ofglen in "The Handmaid's Tale."

Now that this has been mentioned on The Colbert Report (where I heard about it), I'm thinking the "debate" is about to begin!

Oh, another funny thing: apparently, the director claimed that the story tells both sides of the story on the abortion issue. Ha.

reply

It doesn't have to show both sides. It's fiction. It's a horror movie, most certainly not a documentary.
