Awfully Bad! That's all I can say

PLAYERS is just a ridiculous remake of the classic ITALIAN JOB in all respects. Nothing in this film fits the criteria of an acute thriller. ITALIAN JOB was so entertaining and you could relate to all the characters and incidents in this film. While in PLAYERS, you'll see over-the-top characters who just ham their way throughout the movie. The worst piece of casting was obviously Sonam Kapoor. That poor thing could hardly act or say any lines effectively. Her blunt expressions and facial movements are so wooden that you could hardly sympathize with her. The scene where she brags to Abhishek about having mastered her computer course and being a certified hacker is just ridiculous. Also, her computer works and hacking the traffic system is really hard for one to digest. Just carrying the tag of being the daughter of a veteran actor won't help you honey. Abhishek Bachchan was literally confused about why he's doing the film. Just because PLAYERS is an action thriller and it may showcase his few talents doesn't mean he should forsake his entire career for the film. PLAYERS is just another feather on his cap of flops. Though I must admit, Abhishek was not totally unlikeable in this film. He does show a few glimpses of his veteran father but the spark didn't get all the way along. Bobby Deol is just wasted. I wondered throughout the movie why wasn't he casted in the central role. But that's a director-actor thing. Bipasha Basu was merely added to the cast to add to the sex and glamour quotient and to add a few twists to that overly long film. Her role was not needed given the fact that there was only one female character in the original. Sikander Kher just fulfills the demands of his character and that's about it. Omi Vaidya irritates and his funny Hindi accent is just a pain to the ears. Last but not least, Neil Nitin Mukesh is horribly wasted. I don't understand what made Abbas-Mustan cast him in a negative role. That guy does have some talent and we have witnessed it in Johnny Gaddar and New York. But PLAYERS does nothing substantial to his career. It was a delight to see Johnny Lever after a long time and his comedy scenes were the only plus in this terribly boring film. The music is pathetic. The theme song was the only hummable track but it was not included in the film! So sad! The film could've made a little impact if it was a bit short. But we're treated to the cliched Bollywood way of one twist after another and it gets very difficult to watch the film after the intermission. the film just drags in the second half. the robbery scene in the first half is made such a cakewalk for the characters and the car chase sequence towards the climax is interesting but way too unconvincing. the way Abhishek and his team steal the gold under the Russian authorities' nose is just unbelievable. and the russian mafia intervening in the end will just make you laugh.

Totally agree with you. I wonder do these actors ever watch the movies they act in ?!
How is it possible for Bollywood to continually make such terrible movies and how is it possible for actors to perform so shabbily !

Why waste time and money on producing such garbage ! Beats me !

It is all because of nepotism or family connections. No original talent.
