Cathrine harwicke was

probably one of the worse examples of feminism in the movie industry. thirteen was good cause it was the story of poverty and puberty that both genders could connect. as for her talk of twilight. no. the main character in that story is the biggest example of a woman's only goal in a movie is to get a man as the point was made earlier on. i thought joss whedon (though a man) would've been much better to have in this documentary since he had made a career in trying to break the mold of female protagonists over the past 20 years.

Yeah I must say I thought the same. Thirteen was a great film but Bella is hardly a positive role model for strong independent women.

Got that right, I couldn't believe the film failed to ackowledge the irony that Twilight is one of the worst examples of all-time in terms of a female character, hell she's much then any of the other female characters shown in clips, at least those women actually accomplished something, Bella did nothing but pine for a 200 year-old vampire for the entire series.

The Twilight infatuation is flat-out creepy, it's disturbing that something that is so demeaning to women is so popular in that demographic.

I agree that Twilight is trash and always will. But I think the point being made about feminism is that Hardwicke is one of the few mainstream, modern examples of a female director. Sad, but still pretty true.
