That Turkey has no business being a member of NATO and that the EU is better off without them.

Lesson #1

Hollywood gets a taste of their own medicine; what they can do, others can as well. If you don't like this film, then certainly you must also denounce trash like "300". Everyone bleeds red, just like you do.

Lesson #2

Idiots who take offense, like dansig122 above me, and associate it to politics; flip the coin for a moment and maybe some sort of understanding can be made as to why some people might be offended by certain Hollywood films. Maybe America has no place in the UN? What difference is there?

Lesson #3

This film is rather a Turkish caricature of the standardized Hollywood formula. At moments, I think even the actors themselves thought this whole act of being invincible and being perfectly able to single-handedly decimate Israeli troops was inauthentic down to the last fibre. I know this, because even though I can't speak Turkish, that's not how Turks normally talk. That mode of speech is Americanized.

So, why all this disparity? Well, it's actually all very simple.

It's because we have no experience of seeing eastern people as invincible action heroes; we have been indoctrinated into thinking them being terrorist fodder.

Quite ironic considering the historic Pan-European alarmism surrounding rapidly growing, militarily capable Oriental empires. Hollywood could in fact be prosecuted for a wholesale cultural defamation (Not only Jews are entitled to it, may I remind). Disgusting stereotype-propagation indeed.

Yet this is the same garbage that American consumers are spoon-fed with every time they go to the cinema. Exceptionalism seems like an awfully American exclusivity. I am only too glad that bubble has started to burst.

Lesson #4

Americans and Israelis can be stereotyped too, and it seems to me the Turks have found just the right spots to aggravate the hypocrites. I don't like stereotypes, just like anyone else, but sometimes a bully will not stop until he is disgraced with his own treatment.

In other words, those of you that are crying, please be louder. My hearing is poor and my erection of schadenfreude is half-ways there.

Lesson #5

I am entitled to all your money.

That a woman is only really a woman if she gets married and has children, and contraceptives "rob women of their womanhood." And that apparently these contraceptives double as painkillers or mood stabilizers.
