I agree. It had the pacing and feel of a foreign film at times. I rather appreciated the *reality* of it rather than an overly dramaticized Hollywood/Lifetime version of what it could have been. It was actually rather sensitive.

This was a great movie. Mira did an awesome job along with the rest of the cast. I gave it 8 stars.

I agree. I started watching it on Netflix and was already drawn in before I saw the rating on IMDB. This movie is an 8 easily for me. Sorvino was right on the edge of being too overwrought but as the film played out I realized she was doing a great job with the character.

I related to it because I know people who "played a role" in order to keep a relationship going. A woman I worked for who was very irreverent and funny moved away and got engaged. She came back home and the old gang got back together just before her wedding.

It became evident she was portraying herself in a completely different way to her future spouse. When her old friends started telling stories about her younger days you could see she was very uncomfortable because her new dude was there listening in. He didn't seem bothered by it but she seemed oddly ashamed of her past.

The guy in this movie appears as if he is going to stick by his fiance even though she lied to him about her past and her family which I thought was good. You get the impression he is a bit of a stiff who might dump her if he knew the truth.

I agree this movie moved me to tears it felt so real! It was filled with amazing performances

I'm with those who enjoyed this film. Nice, quiet, slow paced character study that is well written and well performed. FOr those who like the rockemsock em flicks - well, forget about this one. This film is for the intellectually inclined.

I'm never a fan of Sorvino, but she is doing a very good job in this film (hate her character...watching the film now). As an Indie-lover, I really like this one. And, I ADORE Tammy Blanchard, which is why I'm watching it.
