I am an English man living in Warsaw, am ccurious about this flick as it has much publicity here but what I have seen of it (trailers) disapoints me, looks very basic in terms of plot/characters. I know this is being released in UK, any English reviews? The one provided here at IMDB seems very patriotic and not really a review of the flick itself.
I just saw this,with english subtitles of course(I am British).
I am fascinated by the history but this is not a historical film,it is a romance and a war film,there are historical references but if you don't know the background already you will just have to get on with it.
Of course most of the films viewers will be Polish and I am sure they get all this stuff at school,at least since 1990.
It is an epic film (but only 2 hours long)it has big battle scenes and stirring music.
If you like war films or history based films then try and see this on the big screen but non polish people will have to live with the romance and catholic angle.
Its too bad that they won this war instead of lose it. Then the English would had Bolshevizm in France and coulda joined up with the marxist way. AFter all marxism was written for the English model and a way to reform the ill deeds of the capitalist Industrial revolution in england ... oh how history is strange ... imagine stalin a UK hero !!
