How is this movie offensive or suggestive?

It is simply about an American family who happened to visit a country that was in the middle of a war and who had specific targets and wanted them dead. It could happen in any country, however, the writer and producer decided to go with a country that would most likely be the best scenerio and realistic. I did not see anything offensive about anything.

It is only offensive to the perpetually aggrieved.

The American family are helped by some of the locals too, like the elderly guy in the garden.

And some of the locals are nice too. The people who complained about the movie are just insecure
