Why didn't Astarte appear in scorpion king 3?

I'm finished being everybody's butt monkey! Slap my hand, dead soul man.

No clue. The feeling I was left with at the end of Rise of a Warrior, her chance in taking Mathayus' soul rested on him dying in the aftermath of his battle with Sargon. He instead survived, leaving his soul free and since she had her sword back, she had no reason to pursue him again. What we know from The Mummy Returns' prologue is Anubis will be the entity the Scorpion King sells his soul to and in Battle for Redemption, Mathayus apparently gets the tool capable of contacting him one day.

"Just tell the minister, I'm gonna be a few minutes late". *Cue John Williams' Superman theme*

Per some of my previous emails on other boards, the direct-to-video sequels have so many contradictions to the first Scorpion King and the Mummy Returns prologue as to render them mostly pointless. I.E.

You have Scorpion King 2 which negates the fact that the Akkadians were all specifically wiped out. Mathayus owes his soul to the demon Astarte, as opposed to Anubus. Mathayus has the ability to become king or at least to stay in Akkadia, yet decides "a life of adventure" surviving on assassin payment...which makes no sense. Even his way of life is different from the indications provided in the first film.

In SC 3, he is king of a broke Asian kingdom, focused only on defense of that kingdom (as opposed to attacking Egypt), with a book that is somehow lost and finds its way to Hamunaptra. Even with the book of the dead, it supposedly still takes him "seven long years" to LOSE a fierce battle to conquer Thebes.

In terms of continuity for this franchise you really only have:

Scorpion King game OR comic book prequel
Scorpion King first film

The direct-to-video sequels have numerous contradictions based on different approaches.
