Excellent film

I had missed "Hands of Stone," mainly because it only seemed to be in theaters for about 4 days; but I managed to find an "alternate source" to see it. This movie is great; cinematography, editing, lighting, pacing...all perfect. It's obvious at a glance that this is not Hollywood garbage. it has the aesthetics and style of a Euro production. I'm very sorry the poor advertising caused this stellar film to fail, especially since the country of Panama had financed it and hoped to see a return in their investment. The story of Roberto Duran has many layers, and each phase of his life is explored. The performances were all wonderful, and Usher Raymond was a perfect choice to portray Sugar Ray Leonard. Even DeNiro was great as Duran's trainer, and this is a surprise because everything this guy has done in the last few years seemed like he was sleepwalking. I loved the adrenaline of "Hands of Stone" as well; it truly is exciting to watch. We have had two great boxing films recently; "Creed," and now "Hands of Stone." It is unjust that the latter did not find financial success, but i am sure that it will garner a huge following, now that people actually have the chance to see it. i'm sure the people of Panama are very pleased with this film, and how their national hero was portrayed.
