I briefly saw him as I was leaving his restaurant and him coming in. It was too loud and crowded so we left. Honestly though, I've only heard bad things about his personality. I'm Panameña so a lot of my family have seen and met him and the stories aren't all good.
shareIn Panama, everyone has seen him around here and there. He's a popular guy, enjoys his fame, parties, and being again in the spotlight with this movie. Years ago he wasted his fortune on silly things, and perhaps is more mature now.
He's not an educated man and he knows it, his screw ups in interviews usually go viral, but he's not shy about his humble origins or ignorance on many topics. Other than that, most people that have met him don't know him well enough to really know the man, so people just spread opinions based on "the time he was at a bar" or whatever. Most Panamanians feel proud about "The Legend" he created, and just ignore his humanly mistakes.
Don't get me wrong, I am very proud to have him. Any person that gives Panama some recognition, I'm ecstatic about. And yes, you are right. Many people who don't know me would describe me as mean or whatever, but they're just basing it off on one instance. So I'm sure a lot of the rumors might be because of moments like that.

shareLol I cracked up at how he first met his wife, picked her up and carried her half way into an alley. Things are definitely different over there. A guy over here in America would be looking at all types of charges doing that to a woman.

That scene was horrible! She didn't even scream or anything. I was confused and thought maybe they already knew each other. I can't imagine that is acceptable to any woman anywhere in the world.
