amazing!

A low budget zombie film that doesn't waste my time... kind of a "Outlaw Josie Wales" meets "Day of the dead". Loved the pacing, the gore, the acting, the storyline... all in all, a solid winner. I am not saying that it is a Fulci level zombie flick but lets be honest, after all the crap zombie films coming out, this was a clear notch on the 'good' zombie film shelf.

On a side note, the lead actor kind of looks like Terry from "True Blood"... just saying.

Yeah, I think I enjoyed it :-) Don't know yet. I believe it's a kind of a film that has to sink in you before you can start appreciating it. I believe the biggest criticism coming from the die hard zombie flicks fans is that actually it's not really a zombie flick. Undead were used here as an allegory of man's own struggles. I think I might watch it again.

A unique and well done dramatic zombie period piece. The rustic technology free setting creates nice isolation which helps increase the tension. I love zombies, and these zombies are the best I've seen in a long time. Not just the makeup, which was great, but the acting and serious tone of the movie, help it excel. The music was wonderful, while the acting and narration was well done. The animation added an arthouse feel, yet not overused. Not a typical horror film, but a serious drama about humanity. Definitely going to keep an eye on this director. I wish there was more of a horror and scare element. I give it 7 out of 10 stars.

I'm really not a zombie fan, but I have to say that this movie as far as lighting and camera angles and transitions between different shot, hoice of locations, I thought it was really well done especially for the budget they had. It could sit right up there with some more popular and high budget movies.
To many times I have seen horror films and others where the image was really cheap on screen but not here. I loved the quality.
As far as the story , I liked too.
I won't say anything about the zombies cause here I think there are a lot of different opinions and too each his own on that subject.

I totally agree. I was quite surprised by the quality of the cinematography as well. The lead actor is wonderful & did a great job of portraying a thoughtful, sometimes very broken man in a horrific world.

He does look like Terry or the lead singer of Kings of Leon. The setting & costumes actually put me in mind of some of KOL's retro aesthetic.
