Flaming Soup
I almost stopped watching when the chick dumps the video cassette in the soup and it catches fire. So stupid.
shareIt wasn't soup, it was frying oil. Not sure what was cooking in there exactly, but it was deep fried something something.
So boiling oil makes a lot more sense. In fact, I doubt it was a special effect, it probably really caught fire in there.
The idea that they were able to recover any kind of image at all from the tape later on, now THAT was ridiculous, I'll grant you.
even boiling oil for deep frying wouldn't ignite a cassette tape like that.
it was ridiculous...
as for being able to get an image back out of it, that is indeed about as ridiculous as the tape catching fire.
