Can anyone explain for me what is happening?

I just watched Paranormal one and this one PA 3. The little girl in this was grown up in part one and it is still coming after her then too.

What does it want? Did it explain that and I missed it? I get there was some cult with these women who had these necklaces and they were apparently the ones with the grandmother at the end. They are in cahoots with summoning this demon. They said something about waiting until they were old enough to have kids and then they'd be hypnotized and wouldn't remember anything.

At the end they head upstairs with grandma and say let's get started or let's begin.

Well, she doesn't remember this and it comes and gets her when she is a young woman in PA 1. What does it want her for? What did it do with them at age 10-12 and what's it doing with her as a young woman? Did it explain what is going on when it takes her over? What's it want, what's it do?

At the beginning of this she's grown and has been taken as a girl and taken as a young woman and she's seems fine, well adjusted, in relationships and has no memory so I guess it just keeps coming periodically and possessing her. Why? Was that explained. What's specifically is it wanting and doing with possessed girls?

The original film never intended to be a series, so it can be confusing if you don't watch all 4 of the films in sequence.
The films also *jump* back & forth in time sequences too.

But the story is basically:

Grandma Lois is a Satanic witch. She made a deal with a demon (who calls itself Toby) for her own wealth & for some power.
The demon wants a child, a son, to possess. Since Lois is too old, she (unbeknownst to them) inflicts the demon on her daughter & granddaughters.

When Lois cannot convince Julie to have another child (we see her try to in Part 3), the *job* then falls to whichever granddaughter Toby wants.
He chooses Kristi.
So, in Part 3, we see Toby gradually gaining strength by both befriending the girls AND tormenting the family (he grows stronger by inflicting fear & anger).

When he at last succeeds at getting Kristi over at Grandma Lois' house at the end of Part 3, the coven complete the ceremony by magically brainwashing Kristi & Katie to forget anything bad that happened, and Kristi *marries* Toby. Her offspring will belong to him as well.

But in Part 2, Kristi's family realizes that a demon is indeed in their midst, and that Kristi is doomed unless they perform a *switching* ritual. The ONLY option is to transfer the demon deal to Katie.
So they do. Hence why Katie is newly tormented once again in Part 1, when living with Micah.
Katie becomes possessed, murders Micah, Kristi, and Kristi's husband & kidnaps baby Hunter.

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.

Well, I started w/#3 (significant other's pick), then #2. My impression was that Dennis & Julie were killed @ the end of #3. Julie is mentioned just once in #2--an admonition from Katie to Christy not to end up like Mom.

Is it revealed in the 1st film?
