Why Can't They Tell You Where the Show Takes Place?

I heard that the last season has been shot in North Carolina--Raleigh & Charlotte. That may be why the homes on the last show I saw were so much less expensive than the ones in Canada. I know prices aren't' too high in NC because my daughter has a gorgeous home in Raleigh that was under $500,000. I'd have loved to know if the latest show was in Raleigh, or Charlotte, or maybe Wilmington, or wherever. There's no reason they can't do that because they tell you where each episode of House Hunters takes place.

My theory:

Lots of Canadian shows have been made to hide the location so that it could easily appear to have been shot in America or Canada.

In episode 12-6 "Separate Spaces" when David was showing one of the houses, Lola asked if they were still in Durham, and he said they were.

I've stopped watching because of the change of venue. Not sure why they decided to film in southern USA, maybe the weather had something to do with it. And I can't stand the new contractor. He was on one of those Property Brothers competitions and he was my least favorite contestant.

If you can't be a good example -- then you'll just have to be a horrible warning.

I like the change of venue, simply because I can relate to people with a $350K budget. When somebody has a $800K - $1 million budget, it's still interesting, but I'm just not really getting into it as much. You know, like, which house I would pick. It's kind of hard to explain. I'm not jealous of these rich people, I just enjoy watching the folks who are more like me.

I fully understand. In my case neither budget would match my wallet. I bought my inner city house in 1993 for less than $50K. I couldn't afford the current prices. But, being nosy, I still like seeing the different houses.

I agree.

I also like it was a Canadian show. If they wanted to show different budgets why not move out of Toronto into medium level cities price wise. I don't see why they had to go American. It was nice they were shooting in Canada with Canadians.

If they have moved into the U.S., I'm glad. I'd like to see different areas of my country, and the homes and how they differ from my area.

I get kind of annoyed when it's always in Canada.
