Liked movie....but ending was'off'

Surprised there isn't any conversation on this movie yet.....

I really liked the movie, but could imagine the director was treading a line between making a movie about separated families OR an action movie. In the end it's more of an action/spy movie, with a dash of the emotional.

That said, I thought the ending was the only missed opportunity. I felt a better ending would be during the 'in-room' fight, perhaps right when the only light is shot out. Going on to show one last run just felt empty, like the director was reaching for emotion that wasn't there.

...I have to agree, I thought the end should've came the moment the ex-agent shot out the light....

The ending was perfect. A cautionary reprimand about the tragedy of severing the link between the Koreas, symbolized by our silent protagonist.

I agree too, should've ended after the light was shout out and I think even that part of the movie was way too stretched. The last moment with him alone was completely useless.

I liked the film, that had a slight touch of Kim Ki Duk's style, until the terrible ending. The final part really felt like it was tagged on. It indeed should have ended as you mentioned. That ending virtually destroyed the merit of this film for me.
