Oh great, I guess we get to watch more repeats of Family Guy. Yippeee. (That's from someone who likes Family Guy (generally). But BBC3 endlessly repeats the same bloody episodes).
"No Silicon Heaven? Preposterous! Where would all the calculators go?"
Possible US version one day? *crosses fingers* Pretty please!
"If we don't learn from history, we're bound to repeat it." Really, 'The Fades' was just too good, so please don't start rumblings along those lines. Let it die with the love, respect and dignity it so deserves, lest some bastardized affront to it's memory crop up here, "restyled for a U.S. audience". Besides, on the off chance that a credible job were done of it, odds are that it would be cancelled in favor of singing or dancing or more New Jersey petri dishes of STD's or real housewives of some idiotic trailer park anyway.
R.I.P. to "The Fades" and thanks for an awesome ride. And screw you, BBC3.

Quite the contrary. I am not, however not a fan of remakes/reboots when the TV or movie source material is great to start off with. The only programs that come close are the North American revamps of "Being Human" and "Shameless", and even those took some getting used to. And let's not get started on the epic fails along the way.

I went back and checked, and the title of the prpogram I was watching was "Being Human: The Less Sucky N.A. Version", so evidently I was. And after some of the antics that occurred in S04 of the UK program, let's not be so quick to cast aspersions on the revamp.

far be it from me that i should try and tell someone else what to like - but in my opinion everything that is charming about the UK version is missing in the remake. it's overly broody/melodramatic and when they aim for the humour that the UK version handles masterfully - they miss.
I'm not a huge fan of the UK vampire (which is a pity as i'm irish myself) but he is FAR superior to the American guy... ultimately the american version doesn't go anywhere interesting and falls FAR short
I was hoping they would take it and run - much like they did with the office. but alas, it wasn't to be
i will admit that it has gotten better while sadly the UK version has gotten worse...although you have to give them some credit for being creative, even if it does border on the absurd at times.
There are people going on about how the American vampire is better because he's manlier and more attractive looking or some *beep* like that, so having pecs and a vacuous expression is manly now?
I'm sorry but I have to disagree as much as I loved Being Human Aiden Turner was and is a rubbish actor. I have watched him in The Hobbit films recently and my opinion, which this is, hasn't changed. I was glad when he got killed off. The US version got me hooked all over again after watching a few episodes, the actors/actresses were well chosen for their characters. I loved it, at least it had a proper ending.
Right. I always hate it if positive characters get slaughtered just for shock effect. WHAT A WASTE. Normaly it bits the writers in the butt in the long run,but the fades were binned already. Nevertheless killing Jay like that in a show is like enemies appearing out of thin air in a singleplayer first person shooter: it sucks out the immersion in a fraction of a second.
Kind of old but I just started watching it...The thing that bugs me the most is that it was axed because of being human. The final season was beyond boring- with a *beep* ending and bland characters. They should have just ended it with Annie saving the world.
Bollocks on both accounts. It was axed because BBC3 is cutting the budgets of their drama department and saving money by playing "factual and comedy programming."
And Being Human had a fantastic last series.
