Just interesting because I always thought it was about the deviant part yet he's gambling all the time, overdrawing his account, not paying the rent, it seems odd that the primary motivator would something so benign as money.
shareMotive and other aspects of the case probably would've been more fleshed out if the case had gone to trial, but as it was, Markoff killed himself before anyone got to find out his true motivation. I think this movie reflected that; it showed his dysfunctional family, his gambling problem, etc. We will never know why he did it.
