"You really are a bad guy."

Did this scene haunt anyone else? It just seemed so bleak, considering the main protagonist had literally obliterated his only friend's future.

Absolutely, especially since it seemed like his only option... So many feels.

I'm jaded, and snobbish with films, so I found that scene to be too simple for me to really get involved in.

I can understand how that scene could be moving though. This movie almost hooked and reeled me in, I can see how someone could get invested in it, it was close but in the end it was too plastic feeling, simple, and random for me to get into. Close miss.

That scene didn't haunt me, no. It was well executed, but you knew he was doing it (smashing her car) to save her anyhow, so clearly he wasn't a "bad guy". That made her words too hollow to have any impact.

It nearly made me cry, and i never cry in movies

Ugh, I could feel Vanellope but I could also feel Ralph. It was very hard to pick a side. So I didn't and I just kept watching.

It remainded me of the scene in The Little Mearmaid where Triton destroys Ariels colection. I mean, both do it because they believe that with that they can save their loved ones :...(
