Baby doll won't sell in the 70's.

It could just be me but the beat, the lyrics etc just don't fit the 70's. It's more like post millennium teenage thing.

Or a 50s 60s thing.

But really, if songs like "Everything is Beautiful", "Knock Three Times", "Candy Man", Seasons in the Sun", "You Make Me Feel Like Dancin'" could crack the top 20 in their respective years, I'm not sure "Baby Doll" isn't as credible. Or incredible, depending on one's perspective.

Apparently, dogs are wolves with Williams-Beuren Syndrome.

It seemed like a parody of the music from the Bobby Sherman/Tiger Beat era, but it was a halfhearted attempt at best.

I liked this song quite well!

Why ain't you at the garden party you heathen?

reply

"Baby Doll" reminded me of Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline".
Very similar in sound, gets the audience going and singing along, etc.

reply

It's a play on sweet caroline (which was released in 69). So yeah it would sell

reply

it won't sell in the time of the roman empire
