Lunacy

This is almost exactly the same movie as Lunacy. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0407236/ which was a creative and outstanding film. This version is much more standard fare. Still good and very well made, but Lunacy is really something special in lots of ways.

I'm definitely gonna check that one out.

reply

They are both based on the Edgar Allan Poe story so it makes sense that they are similar....

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist.

reply

Not really, Lunacy is based on a story by Marquis de Sade.

reply

Bit of both as far as I know.

reply

yeap, just checked that out, you're right, bit of both,

It's not a trick. He's everywhere you look.

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

reply

As an atheist, I agree but I do love Usual Suspects.

reply

I'm sure you think you're quite smart by posting that, but if he doesn't exist, how can he play a trick?
Did you even think this through at all?

reply

I suppose you could exist without anyone knowing you exist, especially if you're some kind of ethereal entity. It might therefore be a trick to convince the world you do exist.

reply

So, you exist without anyone knowing you exist to trick them into thinking you exist....
Ummm, HUHHHH?

Igeodeotto says that God doesn't exist, yet tricks us into thinking he does. That's physically and philosophically impossible! If you don't exist, then you don't exist. You can't masturbate to whatever gets your jollies off, you can't fart in a jar to see if it ferments into something evil, and you can't play tricks on anyone. End of story.

reply

We can rephrase it for you if it helps you to get it?

The greatest trick Santa ever pulled was convincing kids he existed.

The trick here (and the point of the quip) is that "Santa did it" despite not existing...I've used quotation marks here to make extra clear which part of the sentence is not intended literally, as I'm sensing that you have an issue spotting metaphor.

reply

No trouble at all spotting a metaphor. What he said wasn't a metaphor, it was a statement, so the irony of your accusation concerning me being unable to spot a metaphor is quite satisfying. You, on the other hand, evidently have a lot of trouble with comprehending the written word. When you learn to read at a level beyond clinical retardation then you can post an apology for being a stupid little *beep*

reply

Ha. Is that all you got? Denial and asinine ad hominems? You surprise me. (That last one was sarcasm, in case you also have trouble spotting that)
