Based on a true story .... ?

I have found nothing online to support this as a true story. And I grew up in the area and never heard of this.

I'm an Illinoisan, but I'm far away from Downers Grove. Still, our own high school in our not-so-large city also had numerous deaths. Only, we never dubbed it a curse. That's life.

A town about three miles away has an even higher death rate! In their case, it's mainly too much liquor (railroad crossings, carbon monoxide, etc.).
