Awful...just awful...
I found myself cringing throughout the whole movie. Horrible editing, mixed acting (good in some places, abysmal in others), poor writing, just bad overall.
The parts of the film where English is spoken need to be discarded entirely, they're a joke. The VO's usually don't match the mouth movements or the subtitles (Yes, the version released in the USA has subtitles for the parts in which English is spoken...sadly, you need the subtitles, not only because the accents are sometimes hard to understand, but because sentence structures are butchered and words are out of place).
Something funny: the DVD (at least the one I got from Red Box) "Behind the Scenes" special feature didn't have things that you'd normally expect, like meaningful interviews. It just showed 30 minutes worth of footage shot with a different, low quality camera. No mics, no production value or editing to speak of, just low quality recording of what you saw in the movie from a different vantage point.
The movie isn't worth watching. It was horribly made and wasn't even very informative. Poor quality Chinese propaganda is all you'll get. Watch Rush Hour again, you'll be happier.
