'Tannhauser'

A nod to "Bladerunner"?

From Roy Batty's final scene in the film: "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. [pause] Time to die."

Tanhauser is a common German last name.

Religion: A crutch for those unable to accept reality.

However the show has a certain film noir/futuristic look that reminds me a little of "Blade Runner" and I believe I saw somewhere that they cite Ridley Scott as an influence.

reply

Maybe, but that line was improvised by Rutger Hauer.

reply

Not quite sure how that makes any difference?
