This show has jumped the sledge hammer

At least now we can see the total lie that is "$10,000." These ambush episodes show the production crew and equipment involved and there's probably $50K right there.

Also, the show is now 10% food and 90% ambush/counseling, both of which are boring as one of Robert's happy dances.

I thought the show was worthwhile as background noise, but now I can't even stand to have it on in the background.

I agree 100% !

Based on the Ellendale's restaurant episode, I agree that this is an unfortunate turn in the show. No significant restaurant or food matters appeared in the first half hour. I assume this season's episodes are already shot. It would almost be worth their re-editing any unaired episodes to put back the scenes that the fans expect and enjoy. This ambush concept isn't working.

Julie from Ellendale's was so immature and delusional. All she did was cry to her boyfriend.

Irvine spends about 3 minutes on anything related to cooking or food.

One of these ambush episodes he trained the cook for about 2 minutes, and all he did was some kind of totally crappy looking sandwich, and even Irvine looked like he thought it was sheet, and the look on the cook's face was under-impressed and funny at the same time.

The other 40 minutes were Irvine being the fairy interior design queen, and Irvine hugging everyone and flexing his flabby-veiny arms.

I don't think we were ever even supposed to think that it ALL costs only 10 000. I think that is the cost of the materials, and sometimes outside help (like when they need to get professional cleaners for the kitchen). This is why they use volunteers. The ten thousand doesn't include any of the actual labor costs (for the volunteers, designers or any of the production crew), which, if you think of it, can skew the idea of value quite a lot. You think wow, they did all that (and in that amount of time!) with 10 000 dollars, but if the work was included it would be a whole different story. It makes this kind of change look accessible to us all when in reality, it is not.

The actual question is if they really do stick to the sum of 10 000 with their materials. Who would know, or who would check it out? I don't think they answer to anyone.
