USA didn't use Think Like A Man hype

This show should have been released within the weeks of Think Like A Man movie release. Notice how Keri Russell's Dark Skies is being released within the month of the American's release. You havee to ue the hype of one project to help the other. Michael had a lot of girl fans who wanted to see him weekly and this show debuted too late.

They could have still tuned in to see Michael....I did.
Warren grew on me too...hope both of them land another TV show soon.

I'm fairly sure it was always USA's intent to bury this show (it should have been renewed by all typical measuring standards, but wasn't, for unknown reasons). At the time, I doubt anyone thought Think Like a Man would be a hit, and Common Law wasn't even really on the radar (Friday night shows on cable are generally afterthoughts). Dark Skies is trying to capitalize off of The Americans, for sure, but not many people watch that show to begin with (right around the same amount that watched Common Law on FRIDAYS).

It does really seem like USA wanted this show to fail. I just want to know why!! :(

Especially since they just picked up Graceland, which looks similar enough to Common Law for it to feel a bit like a slap in the face to the show and its fans. Why pick another show along the same lines instead of treating CL better?

I wonder if we'll ever know what happened?

Hahaha, I've been waiting for the perfect opportunity to call the Graceland leads Warren and Michael Lite. Could they look more similar? Weird...

I think during the release of TLAM they would air promo for this saying ladies you can see him on this new show. But i would have did a special release night as a teaser.

Omg! I watched this show every week! I know Friday shows are hard to fit in, but l liked having something on Fridays now that Monk is gone. It didn't hurt that Michael Ealy was in it either. I was just checking to find out when the next season was starting when I saw this post. Would be great if another station picked it up. It would be USA's loss, but at least fans could keep viewing.

Michael Ealy was trending on twitter a week or two before the series finale of Common Law and I figured it could give Common Law's ratings a boost, but apparently it didn't. I don't think Ealy took proper advantage of that opportunity to tweet about Common Law while his name was a top trend.

Rant: Some celebs don't take advantage of their ability to reach a lot of people and advertise their shows properly and it pisses me off. Last week a guy who has half a million followers told people to watch his new show but didn't even tell them what day or time it was on and didn't mention the well known guest star who was in the upcoming episode. The episode was on just a couple of hours later.

More ranting: Networks are failing to advertise properly, as well. They're failing miserably and that pisses me off, too. People in charge of marketing these shows should have their heads examined.

Does anyone remember those crossover commercials USA used to do with Monk, Psych, and Dead Zone? I think they used The 4400 as well. I thought those were so effective. Would have loved to see a Shawn/Gus/Wes/Travis ad. Oh, and they could have included Neal and Peter. Just do a nice buddy show mashup. I think I saw one Common Law commercial prior to airing.

I didn't even have a problem with the timeslot b/c Monk did so well on Friday and 10pm was Psych's original slot.I remember us fans were actually concerned that moving it would harm the show. USA just didn't promo Common Law enough.

Are you talking about the cross promotion ones where characters from different shows would appear together in promos? Some of those were great, if that's what you're talking about. I specifically remember a few really good Burn Notice ones. It's probably been about a good 3 or 4 years since they've done any of those.
