Why cancel a show with an 8.0 IMDB rating?

I get the impression that the reasons the show was cancelled haven't really been made clear - but I'm puzzled that a show with this high a rating didn't get renewed.

Good point. I'm puzzled about the complaints. There's far worse cop shows on TV right now that are popular. Some things on this show were over the top, but the way they did it was clever, original and entertaining enough, in my opinion.

I don't think they ever gave a reason why they cancelled the show. But most guessed it was because it was on a Friday night. Plus I don't think USA is a good network to even start a new TV show....they never advertised it and didn't give it a chance even though it had a huge fan base.

I'm a fan of the show but I think the ratings have been a little inflated because people miss the show/are sad that it's over. A year ago, the rating was 7.5.

With that said, although the show is supposed to have been cancelled for low viewer ratings, its ratings are really not that bad relative to other shows on the network. For example, Graceland seems to have about the same or even worse viewership, yet it has still been renewed.

It is a mystery.

Or it could be that more people are discovering it all the time. I've only just come across it and haven't rated it yet, but when I do, I will certainly give it more than 7/10.

I'm watching it again and really loving it! It's funny, it's got a great premise, and the acting is good. It has held up really well over time.
